Here I Come Boracay

My Boracay Escapade

*The First Time…

My Boracay Escapade was so unplanned. My house mates had already planned on going to boracay to celebrate our friends birthday. But they didn't told me that until it was 2 weeks before our trip. I got excited when they told me but a little bit left behind for not knowing in advance. Going to boracay without any preparations would be hard. Boracay was miles away from Makati and I had to take a plane to get there. I got hesitant at first. Unplanned trip would cost more than what you think. Flight's rate will cost less than a thousandths if I get booked like two to three months before the trip. But that didn't happened. Because of short notice, I got booked two weeks before. And that costs me less than P3000.00 ( back and forth trip ). Aside from that, we had to give a P2000.00 contribution for the other expenses.
We all know that Boracay was the most visited tourist spot here in the Philippines. And anything, even borrowing money just for this trip, can't stop me from going.
For the first timers like me. Don't you know that riding on a plane for the first time got me more excited than going to boracay? Well it really intrigues me what to feel especially when the plane’s ready for take off.
The first time I got on a plane.

Here we come Boracay.

*The Trip..

We left home four hours before our flight. Traffic might get us late and also there are some things to be done before boarding. A friendly reminder guys, be sure to bring your flight tickets and one valid id. For your hand carry bag, be sure that it would only weigh 7 kilos exactly. More than 7 kg will be paid. Also expect for delayed flights.

*Welcome..

Our flight from Manila to Aklan was 8pm, we had an hour delayed so we departed at 9 to 9:30pm. My first time dilemma was answered when finally the plane started taking off. I want to laugh at myself actually. I wont tell you guys what I feel because I want you all to discover it yourself. The trip took us 45 minutes to finally reach Aklan Airport.

*Ola Boracay!!

A van was waiting for our arrival to take us to the coast. The driver told us that the ride will took 2 hours so we decided to take a nap. After that we had to take a boat that will take us to the island finally. We reach Boracay Island at exactly 1am.

*The Moments..

The trip got us exhausted and tired. We settle our luggages at the hotel and take a walk for a while.
Early in the morning, we decided to take a look at the beach. I was amazed at the very fine white sand that the island had. Though I had visited  other white beaches in my life. Boracay beach was different. Boracay has long white sand beach.

Aside from the beach, Boracay also offers different kind of restaurants to dine, fast food chains, bars,  and even karindiryas.

You can meet Koreans, Americans, Chinese and other nationalities too. No doubt, Boracay was really popular not just here in the Philippines but also all over the world.
Our Boracay adventure last only for 2 days. I know it's short but we had to go to work too.

Another friendly reminders from me. First, make sure to plan your Boracay visit. You don't want to feel unsatisfied for this kind of adventure. Make sure you have save enough money for the trip. You don't want to got short right? Have fun. Enjoy the beach. Enjoy the view. Try anything you want to try. Bar hopping, pot smoking ( for adult only), forget your diet and eat like nobody's watching you.  Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy..

PAK! Takbo Para Sa Ekonomiya

It was my first experience to join a fun run. Though I love running, I did it almost every night after work. I just don't have the guts to join an activity like that. Maybe because I don't have time to attend or maybe I don't have friends to invite. I have so many friends though, but I don't think they would like to engaged an activity like this. You know my friends chose to attend party. Their party animals.

But thanks to Mr. Aaron Dreu, my coworker, our supervisor actually. I don't want to boost my ego but I think I was the one who influenced him to start running too. In fact, he was the one who forced me to join him to attend this running event. I was hesitant at first because the events day was Sunday early in the morning. And Sunday was a very busy day at work. I don't want him to think he can't count on me on this so I decided to go.

I think going with him was the right decision. Because attending a running event was a blast. For a beginners, expect us to feel like what are we gonna do, where should we go?. We saw people wearing the same singlet like ours so we followed them. When were at the venue the adrenaline rush came exploding on my veins. I already feel the excitement. And I know that Aa or Sir Aaron can feel it too. In fact he start taking pictures and meeting our co-runners. So far the experience was unforgettable as a beginner. We received medal as a 5k running finisher.

I had the chance to pose for a picture with Yael Yuzon too. Although Kuya Kim, Miriam Quiambao, Ariella Arida and Wynwyn Marquez was there too. I can't get the chance to have pictures with them. I don't have to worry the next time I'm going to attend a running activity again because in fact we had the chance to take a nap after we got off the event.

Do you want to feel what I feel? Then what are you doing? Get up and get registered to a running event you want to attend. 🏃🏃🏃

Pico de loro

PICO DE LORO

NASUGBO, BATANGAS PHILIPPINES
Mount Pico de Loro, also known as Mount Palay-Palay, is a dormant volcano in Cavite province on the island of Luzon, Philippines. The mountain rises to an elevation of 664 m (2,178 ft) above mean sea level and is one of the ancient volcanic features of Bataan Arc.

Mount Pico de Loro is the most notable mountain at Mounts Palay-Palay–Mataas-na-Gulod Protected Landscape and is considered as one of the two prominent mountains of the protected landscape together with Mount Marami. It features a monolith or a natural 60-meter rock column beside its summit which is the major attraction of the mountain.
( picture of myself at the camping site with the monolith and its summit on my back )

Although the major jump-off of the mountain is at Ternate, most of its area is under Maragondon. Its summit is shared among the boundary of both the province of Cavite and Batangas.

Pico de Loro was first named by Spanish sea-farers which means "Parrot's Beak" as its pointed summit resembles the shape of a parrot's beak from afar and it is commonly used as a signal by sea-farers to turn east to get to Manila Bay.( wikipedia )

Mt. Pico de Loro is most frequented mountain of the Mounts Palay-Palay–Mataas-na-Gulod Protected Landscape, together with Mount Marami. There are two major jump-off to the mountain. One is via Ternate which is usually is the primary jump-off to the mountain and the other is at the border of Maragondon and Nasugbu at Barangay Papaya, which is usually the traverse exit point.

The hike to the summit features a 5-kilometer long trail passing through forested areas and minor streams. The saddle camp beside the summit is notable for its bamboo trees while the summit itself is grass.
A side trip to Pico de Loro Waterfalls is also notable especially during rainy season.

Its summit gives a 360-degree view to the whole protected landscape. To its north is Manila Bay and Corregidor, and to the south are the remaining portions of the protected landscape which includes Mataas na Gulod, and Dos Picos as well as the far mountains of Nasugbu such as Mount Talamitam and Batulao. To the west is the Limbones Cove and the rest of the West Philippine Sea.

Itineraries:
It takes 2 ½ hours to get to the jump-off point of Mt. Pico de Loro from Manila. A brief orientation will be given before the climb starts. The trail starts with a short ascent before descending and reaching a flatter trail that leads to the ranger station. From there a flat trail that small streams will have very exposed areas which will last for around an hour before heading into the forest. The forest trail marks the start of a steeper ascent that may last for 1-1 ½ hours and ends at the camp site. The camp site is one of the best places to take beautiful and daring photos. It's the best place to take your lunch and rest before the assault to the summit. Climbing the summit will take 20 minutes. From there you can see the beautiful view of the rock peak. Climbing the rock peak is optional but highly encourage. After enjoying the view, my group decided to descend and head back to Manila.
